Project Overview

– Funded by the European Union (EU) and Norway.

Compliance and Oversight

Key Achievements:

– Improved project performance from 3% to 107% in 2.5 years.
– Established 32,177 hectares of plantations to agreed standards.
– Developed 1,008 hectares of woodlots to agreed standards.
– Pruned and thinned 12,018 hectares of plantations to maintain quality.
– Raised over 3,860,000 high-quality tree seedlings across 48 nurseries.
– Engaged with 146 communities, impacting 6,008 people across 29 districts.
– Achieved a high survival rate of at least 80% per year for the 3,476 hectares planted.

Prepared all strategic plans for the program to ensure long-term sustainability and effectiveness.

– Implemented an outsourcing model that reduced overhead costs by 50%
and enhanced operational efficiency.
– Supported the growth of 10 SMEs, including two led by women, contributing
to community economic development.

Market Development and Penetration:

-Overcame the challenge of no established markets for the first crop harvested by successfully penetrating local and export markets.
-Achieved sales of 45,000 m3/year of sawlogs, 40,000 poles/year, and secured contracts for 1,000,000 trees for resin tapping within just six months.
